St. Patrick's Day

I borrowed a game we played at Crystal's baby shower to create a writing assignment for my kids. I thought of words that were associated with St. Patrick's day (like: St. Patrick's Day, leprechaun, shamrock, March, gold, Ireland, luck, Spring) and then added a bunch of random words (like; toothbrush, big toe, red hair, school, throne, the name of our school, state assessments, and basketball). The kids have to come up with a story using all the words. This one was my favorite, I didn't correct any of the grammar mistakes to make it just a tad more interesting. Enjoy!

On St. Patrick's Day there was a visisios leprechaun named Big toe. Big toe went to Riverside school in Australia. Big toe had red hair. his teeth were gold and he needed a tooth brush. His dad sat on the throne in Ireland. He loved to drink shamrock shakes and Blood. He like to play basketball a school. He didn't have to take the state of assessments cause his dad didn't wan't him to so they didn't make him. He hated spring and luck and people he bit some kids arm off once. His birthday was in March he didn't like that cause it was on March 17th that made him mad on St. Patricks day so every year look out for the visios leprechaun he could be in your frige or even be-hind you. So sleep with your light on and sleep in your moms room if you half to just look out.
