Happy Birthday Kansas!

(I know this is several days late, sorry)
My friend has this joke, and although it is funny, it is completely untrue. Here it is:

Why do all the trees in Missouri lean to the west? 
Because Kansas sucks. 

Kansas celebrated its 152nd b-day on January 29th and for the most part it went unrecognized in our school, except in my classroom. The kids looked up interesting facts on the internet about Kansas and then made an acrostic poem using those facts. They published them on construction paper they cut into the shape of Kansas and then I made this bulletin board with all of their poems.

Our hallway pretty narrow so I never feel like I can get a good angle, but I think you get the idea.
Happy Birthday Kansas, you are still my favorite state!
